Anne Arundel County Jury Awards $370,577 in Slip and Fall

Annapolis , Maryland – An Anne Arundel County jury awarded Sharon Woullard $370,577 in a personal injury case yesterday. In February 2003, the Aspen Park Homeowner’s Association breached its own bylaws by failing to clear the common area sidewalks during the blizzard of 2003. On the morning of February 21, 2003 she was walking along a common area sidewalk that was not cleared and fell. She suffered fractured left wrist as a result of the fall. Ms. Woullard incurred $6,554.72 in medical bills. The Defendant made a settlement offer before the trial in this personal injury case, through its insurance company, State Farm, of $18,750.

“I am pleased that Sharon was vindicated in her struggle to get the Defendant to pay for the harm from her injuries that they caused. We are please to get a fair and just result from this jury,” her attorney, Laura G. Zois, said shortly after the verdict.

Ms. Woullard is a neonatal nurse at St. Agnes Hospital .
