Jury Verdict
Press Release: November, 2002

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

An unanimous jury in Baltimore City, Maryland awards plaintff $293,777 for injuries in an auto accident.

Plaintiff incurred $5,977.77 in medical bills and $3,100 in lost wages. “We are gratified after hearing all of the evidence, the jury came to a just verdict,” said Laura G. Zois, one of the Plaintiff’s attorneys. “The defendants wanted to focus solely on the fact that there was no visible property damage to the vehicles. But the reality is Mary Ann suffered a life changing injury. Juries are smarter than most lawyers think. The do not judge cases like insurance adjusters and defense lawyers, making their award on the amount of medical bills and the property damage. Juries are human beings. They look at how much pain and suffering the plaintiff experienced as a result of the accident.” The Plaintiff claimed that she suffered a herniated disc in her accident. Defendants Gregory Volker and Reliable Roofing, Inc. claimed that Ms. Raleigh injuries occurred in a subsequent auto accident and that the injuries she did claim were minor. Plaintiff’s case was prepared and tried by Ronald V. Miller, Jr. and Laura G. Zois, attorneys with Miller & Zois, LLC. Gregory Donlin defended the case on behalf of the Defendants (insured by Zurich Insurance Co.)
