Their occurrence is estimated at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cureus.com\/articles\/209287-stevens-johnson-syndrome-sjs-as-the-initial-presentation-in-a-patient-with-a-new-diagnosis-of-hiv#!\/\">two to seven cases<\/a> per million people annually, with SJS being three times more common than TEN.<\/p>\n<p>Some conditions increase the risk of Steven-Johnson syndrome, including HIV infection and systemic lupus.
