Glen Meadows Retirement Community

Glen Meadows is a retirement community that has a small 31-bed nursing home in Glen Arm (Baltimore County), about 10 miles from Baltimore City. Usually nonprofit nursing homes of this size in a retirement community are fantastic. This nursing home is really not bad and reportedly the Glen Meadows community is really nice. What is hard to figure is why this nursing home always seems to have an inspection report from Medicare that has complaints like not having a pest control plan and not keeping proper clinical records. Often, these small nursing homes in big retirement communities are 5-star across the board with inspection reports that you can eat off they are so clean. But, there is no question, you could do a lot worse. And it really is a nice setup where you can mix couples that are in different stages of retirement.

[Note: this nursing home got better ratings in 2017 and had a much better inspection report. It is not the 5-star utopia you see in some of these setups but it looks better than the picture above.]
