Stevens Johnson Syndrome Lawsuits
Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) is rare and potentially fatal disease involving the skin and the mucous membranes. It is a serious condition that often requires hospitalization.
This disease typically begins with several days of flu-like symptoms. This can lead to the inflammation of the mucous membranes and a spreading rash that may blister. This can cause the patient's top skin layer of skin to die.
Steven-Johnson Syndrome can be caused by a number of things, including viral infections and reactions to drugs. With respect to the latter which causes 80% of SJS, the usual culpuits are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, sulfonamides and penicillin, and anticonvulsants (seizure medications).
This disease has been reported in users of Chantix and Accutane, among other drugs. If you have taken Chantix or Accutane and you have Stevens-Johnson syndrome, call 800-553-8082 to discuss your potential Stevens Johnson Syndrome lawsuit.
